moi je joue
I celebrated last weekend, like the tradition offers, with family and friends at their old mansion, and let me tell you these people go ALL IN. Tomatogazpacho served from inside a ragged doll? Oh yes. Marinated cauliflower resembling preserved brains? Yum. Dried brown leaves spread through out the entire house? Check.
...You can see why growing up with this leaves its marks. My family did a super-cheesy dress up as "presents". (God I love my family, they're insanely quirky and funny.) But this weekend I figure a big box isn't ideal for dancing and making your way to the bar, so after some thinking I believe I've settled on Brigitte Bardot. Yes, one of the most gorgeous women to ever live might seem ambitious, but I'll take any excuse to pretend to be French! What'll you be going as?

mary kate and ashley for bikbok, earmuffs
Released today; Earmuffs, MK & A Olsen for BikBok, Collection 02
Gravitating towards preppy things lately, I knew the earmuffs from Mk & Ash's second BikBok-collection were a must. They're so large, so fluffy, so everything-you-could-ever-wish-for-in-earmuffs. Honestly, I hadn't given earmuffs a second thought since I was six and had a bad experience with a pair of foldable ones before this collection, but I feel that I'm ready to forgive and forget now.
They're perfect on those rare days my hair is behaving the way I want it to, so there's no need to kill it with a knitted cap(God bless those too, though). Also, they're cheap! 99 SEK, 10 euros, or about 15 dollars. Pretty good, huh?

This look is perfect on so many levels.
Today H&M got their usual load of news, and there are sooooooooooo many pretty things!! I'm kind of head over heels for this mix of stripes, but 499:- for 10% wool? No. I'm stingy like that. But man do I need to find the cheap-woman's-version. The colors are gorgeous!
...Also. This coat. Let's not even go there, just make a pact with me not to buy it so I can get it on sale. Thanks.
P.S - You'd be bored dead if I showed you ALL my favorites, but here's a few selected pieces:
1. I think I'm going through backwards-puberty. A Barbie-pink tote with childish prints is suddenly a necessity. 2. We all know about my triangle-bra obsession. So perfect. 3. High MC-boots? Well, OK, if you insist. 4. Sailor Moon-ish reminding ring.
mary-kate & ashley for bikbok 2nd collection preview
Mary-Kate & Ashley Olsen's second collection for BikBok couldn't come at a better time! The furry accessories are spot on and if I expected myself to be able to limit the wear to not-everyday-and-especially-not-with-my-dirty-yogapants, the gray cardi with cutouts and slitz(I accidently placed the banner right over the cutouts in the armpits, woops) would be a must. But I feel that would take the magic out of a piece with capacity of achieving much more exiting outfits. Sighs.
Now. The fluffy earmuffs. Say it out loud then tell me - amazing or awesome, or awemazing?
Check out the full collection below:
...I think the pea coats are pretty glorious also. What's your favorite piece?

Cropped knitted top? Check. Dark heather gray wrap skirt? Double check.
I've been on the look out for a suitable option to go with everything high waisted I own - somehow nothing in my wardrobe was up to task, and thus began the two day hunt.(I freaked out yesterday ten minutes before I was heading over to some friends, ended up with jeans and a tee, pure outfit-battlefield-scar)
I've been checking this knitt out before in white and navy, but habit made me try on one or two sizes bigger than my actual size. This is a size XS and I've learned a valueable lesson; not EVERYTHING is designed for you to buy oversize. Huh. Who would've figured. I still love how in reality it's pretty sleek and narrow over the shoulders despite the drop seem, and overall just the perfect amount of cropped nakedness-feel and chunky hideaway piece without the drown in it factor. Such a perfect fit. This picture doesn't do it justice one bit. Damn.
The wrap skirt is also gorgeous, this one was wrongly stitched in the side but I got a good one. Don't you worry children.

(I couldn't find the actual knitt online but this one from H&M is a pretty acceptable replacement.)
mini skirts & revelations
Some happenings are things we should just accept as unexplainable phenomenons. The creation of the universe. How some people can eat McDonald's every day without getting fat. The fact that I, after 18 years in baggy pants and oversized tees, finally is turning towards miniskirts and tights. It's just the course a higher purpose is guiding us towards you know. Miniskirts and revelations.
So mini skirts it is - lo and behold:
...Clueless! Of course.
I've talked to you about it before but dang I suddenly want to be named after a famous singer of the past who now does infomercials. Plaid mini skirts have never felt more right and, well, mini skirts over all has just become a staple of my wardrobe lately along with a quickly escalating number of different dens tights. Woops...?
Latest addition to my skirt collection is a high waisted little number in silver metallic I found at the H&M sale. It's gorgeously unappropriate to wear with everyday designer button down shirts and MC-boots or sling backs. Oh yes.
P.S - Brittany Murphy might just be the most beautiful woman that ever lived.
(I couldn't find my actual skirt online, but this jacquard one isn't half bad either. Also on sale. You're welcome.)

(Vintage wool kilt/skirt/thingy, BikBok 70 den tights, Gina Tricot spaghetti strap top, H&M oversized bikermodel jacket and bag) matched with Scorett black MC boots
This was an outfit I really really loved. After watching Clueless two days in a row, tartan skirts were unavoidable and a must, and this double-belted, huge safety pinned slice of heaven was up to task. I love how akward it is trying to cram down top-hems in it since it goes well up to my ribs. Can't wait to wear it with a tight white tshirt. The oversized MC jacket and black boots along with a cutsie bun updo(blog slang for why-the-fuck-is-my-hair-possessed-by-satan) balanced it perfectly beween Tokyo-school girl and grunge.
I wish I'd gotten pics of it head to feet but hey, a girl and her relative tripod virginity can only do so much. I'll be sure to wear something similar very soon though.
